Mary Beecher

Biography

 

Mary grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Mary graduated from Dublin High School in 1976. She attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo before graduating from Cal State University, Hayward in 1981. Mary received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an Accounting Option.

Her professional career began in 1981 as an Accounting Supervisor for McDonald's Corporation. Mary was responsible for the financial aspects of 72 restaurants in 2 western regions. Following McDonald's, she has been associated with American Home Shield Corporation in San Jose where she was the Assistant to the Controller.

Mary moved to San Diego in 1986. She was the Accounting Manager at Frazee Industries, a large local paint and wallcovering company. Following Frazee, Mary worked with Emerald Systems, a PC tape backup hardware and software supplier. After Emerald, she was the Controller for Jillson Distributors, a food distribution company that supplied grocery items to the military Exchange's in the western United States. Mary moved on to become the Controller for the San Diego region of Budget Rent-a-Car, a franchisee of the nationwide company. Mary then went on to become the Controller of Petersen Membership clubs. Petersen provides a membership club for car enthusiasts. They provide benefits for readers of Motor Trend, Hot Rod, and Sportsman magazines.

Mary was recently the Vice President/Controller for ProfitLine. ProfitLine helps businesses identify the best pricing strategies and negotiate the best contract terms for long distance and other telecommunications services. They are a full service telecommunications consulting and telemanagement firm offering a complete range of services from strategic planning and project management to contract negotiations and bill auditing. In 1999 ProfitLine was named the sixth fastest growing privately-owned company in San Diego

Mary makes her home in San Diego with her husband, Tony. Both have been involved with many fund raising committees, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Big Sisters. Both have also been founding members of two southern California car enthusiast clubs.
